Full moon day festival in March (by Kyaw Ko Win)

타바웅(Tabaung) 달은 미얀마 음력으로 마지막 달이며 양력으로는 3월이다. 첫 보름 동안은 추운 계절이 아직 끝나지 않은 탓에 여전히 쌀쌀하지만, 남은 보름 동안은 여름철로 접어드는 것처럼 더워진다. 미얀마 속담에 따르면, 낮에는 덥고 밤에는 시원하다고 한다.

The Month of Tabaung is the last monthin the Myanmar Lunar Calendar (in March).The first 15 days are still cool because the cool season has not ended yet. . But the latter 15 days become hot as summer season enters. According to Myanmar Saying, it is hot during daytime and cool during night time.

 부처, 고타마 싯다르타는 왕족으로 태어났다. 부처 나이 29세에 겪은 바깥 세상은 그를 삶과 영적 성장에 대한 위대한 깨달음을 찾도록 이끌었다. 그는 그의 궁전, 모든 왕자로서의 생활, 심지어 아내와 아들까지 버렸다. 깊은 숲 속에서 6년 동안 인생의 이유와 고(苦; Dukkha; 둑카)의 이유를 찾으려 진지하게 노력한 끝에, 그는 깨달음을 얻었다.

Our Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama was born into a royal king family. When he was at the age of 29, his experiences with the outside world drove him to seek out a greater understanding of life and spiritual fulfillment. He abandoned his palace, his entire royal prince life and even his wife and his son. After serious effort in seeking the cause of life and the reason of Dukkha in deep forest for 6 years, he found the reason of Dukkha and achieved Enlightenment.

 나이듬, 고통, 죽음에서 벗어나는 한 가지 길에 대해 사람들에게 가르치면서, 부처는 먼 길을 여행했다. 부처의 친족들이 그의 설교를 듣고 싶어서 그들은 부처를 자기네 나라로 모셔오기 위해 고위 관리를 연달아 보냈다. 그런데 이처럼 보내진 모든 관리들은 승려가 되었고 그들의 나라로 돌아가지 않았다. 미얀마 음력으로 103년 타바웅(Tabaung) 달 보름달이 뜨는 화요일에, 다시 고위 관리가 부처를 방문했다. 그때, 부처는 돌아가 그의 친족들에게 설법할 적절한 때임을 알고 있었으므로 거절하지 않았다. 같은 날, 부처는 20000 명의 승려(이미 아라한 반열에 든)와 함께 자신의 나라로 돌아갔다. 때문에, 불교도들에게는 타바웅(Tabaung)의 보름달 뜨는 날이 아주 중요한 종교적인 날이다.

 The Buddha travelled great distances teaching people about one path to escape from aging, sickness and death. Since the royal family of Buddha wanted to listen to his religious sermon, they sent one high official after another to invite Buddha to their country. But all high officials who they sent became Buddha monks and didn’t return to their country. On Tuesday, full moon day of Tabaung in Myanmar’ Lunar Calendar Year 103, one high official invited Buddha again. At that time, Budda didn’t refuse since he knew that it was the relevant time to come back and teach his sermon to his relatives. On the same day, Buddha returned to the country with 20,000 Buddhist monks (already attained Arhatship).So, full moon day of Tabaung is the very important religious day for Buddhists.

 Shwedagaon 탑의 축제는 매년 타바웅(Tabaung)의 보름을 축하하기 위해 행해진다. 나라의 많은 사람들이 수리를 위해 돈을 기부하고, 매일 엄청난 수의 사람들이 경의를 표한다. 

 전통 베틀을 써서, 새벽녘까지 탑의 네 어귀에서 부처 그림에 입힐 법의를 짜는 시합이 있을 것이다. 그 기간 동안, 승려들은 24시간 내내 불경을 암송할 것이다. 타바웅(Tabaung) 축제는 가장 성대한 축제 중의 하나다. 이 때 방방곡곡에서 온 방문자들이 축제를 즐긴다. 필자 또한 당신을 초대해 Shwedagon 탑에서 치러지는 타바웅(Tabaung) 보름을 찾아 우리의 축제를 즐기기를 바란다.

The festival of the Shwedagon Pagoda is celebrated on the fullmoon day of Tabaung (March) every year. Many people in the country contribute funds for the repairing and a great number of people pay homage every day.. The alms-giving and donation ceremonies for the honoured Buddhist monks is held on the morning of Full Moon Day of Tabaung. The Full Moon Day of Tabaung is the delight of merit-offering Myanmar Buddhists.
There would be a competition to weave holy robes for the Buddha Images at four corners of the pagoda before dawn using traditional looms. 
Monks would recite the Holy Scriptures 24 hours continuously throughout the duration. One of The greatest festivals is that of Tabaung

festival. Visitors from all over the country enjoy the festival at such a time.
